A VILLAGE pub has won a place in the finals of the Great British Pub Awards.
The Kentish Hare at Bidborough is just one of six hostelries on the shortlist of the Best Food Pub category.
Celebrity chefs and brothers Chris and James Tanner head up The Kentish Hare’s kitchen, with the venue also securing two AA rosettes and a coveted Michelin listing.
General Manager Paul Barber said: “It is fantastic to be recognised as one of the best food pubs in the country.”
Chef James Tanner added: “Our menu focuses on using the best in local ingredients from local suppliers. The Kentish Hare has only been open for three years, and in that time it has already earned national recognition as being one of the best gastro pubs in the country.”
The winner will be announced at the London Hilton on September 7.
