Language service Cicero Translations has been bought by a competitor after nearly 40 years of operating in Tunbridge Wells.
It was announced last week Manchester firm The Translation People had acquired the Culverden Square-based company in an undisclosed deal.
Cicero has a second office in London and was founded in 1980 by Managing Director Paul Mason, who will remain in a consultancy role for a year before retiring.
It has not been confirmed if the firm’s other three staff will remain.
In the previous financial year, Cicero generated revenues of £550,000, serving clients in sectors such as education, publishing, manufacturing and design.
