A NEW hot desking and co-working office space has opened in Tunbridge Wells to provide start-ups and home workers a place to get their heads down and work.
The brainchild of Tom and Julia Olden, Office Tribe officially launched this month opposite the train station on Mount Pleasant Road.
It provides two floors and 2,000 square feet of office space aimed at those not wanting or unable to afford permanent office premises.
The centre has space for up to 35 hot desking workers and 30 dedicated desks, plus a meeting room and other facilities.
Julia Olden, who came up with the idea with her husband, Tom, explained the reasons for opening the centre.
She said: “Tom came up with the idea while he was working for himself in Tunbridge Wells and there wasn’t anywhere he could find to work.
“Both of us have used similar office spaces in London before but there is nothing exactly like it in Tunbridge Wells, and yet there are a lot of people starting businesses here.”
She continued: “We wanted to provide more than just office space. We wanted to create a community feeling where start-ups, or perhaps mums working from home who find they need a quiet space, can come and work with like-minded entrepreneurs.”
She added that members of Office Tribe can not only arrange a number of different hot desking and working options, but can also find a network of individuals and businesses that can offer support.
