The Times revealed in February last year how the German retailer had struck a deal with Homebase to operate in one half of their Broadwater Lane store.
Along with low-cost rival Aldi, which opened its first store in Tunbridge Wells in 2019, Lidl has been expanding across the UK and has invested around £1.3billion in new stores.
The store is operating a number of social distancing measures to ensure customer safety.
A store spokesperson said: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing our new store to Tunbridge Wells.
“It is great for us to be able to create more jobs in the area, and we are proud to serve the local community at this time.”
Lidl said it is operating a range of social distancing measures to keep colleagues and customers safe.
