The packaging company Plastique, which has its headquarters in Tunbridge Wells, this week clarified the question of job security now that the business has been acquired by an American group.
It currently employs 180 people across three sites, the two outside Tunbridge Wells being a factory in Nottingham and another in Poznan, Poland.
Managing Director John Lowe visited the locations along with new owners, the Illinois-based Thermoform Engineered Quality, a subsidiary of Esco Technologies.
They explained to staff ‘the significant benefits that will arise from the acquisition’.
Mr Lowe told the Times: “There are no planned changes to the current staffing structure across the total business as part of this acquisition and indeed the strategy for growth may very well provide for further expansion in staff numbers going forward”.
