‘Rio’ challenge lands big cheque for charity

Staff from Tunbridge Wells law firm Cripps have raised nearly £4,500 for the Alzheimer’s Society by walking, swimming, running and cycling 7,000 miles in their ‘Get Cripps to Rio’ challenge.

The original target was to cover 5,767 miles – the equivalent distance from Tunbridge Wells to Rio de Janeiro – between July 22 and August 21, but so keen was the response that they topped that by a large margin, taking them far beyond ‘Rio’.

The challenge was supported throughout by Tunbridge Wells cycling café The Velo House, which hosted an evening reception during which a cheque was presented to Jenny-Louise Connolly, the Alzheimer’s Society’s Community Fundraiser for Kent & East Sussex.
