KENT-based charity Royal British Legion Industries [RBLI] has been chosen by the Education & Skills Funding Agency to deliver skills training to adults in Kent and Sussex.
The programme will see RBLI’s team of tutors, assessors, job coaches and advisors help adults gain the skills they need to move into their desired employment sector, including retail, construction and customer service.
Across the two counties there are some 85,000 people of working age with no qualifications, which can cause unemployment or job insecurity.
RBLI, which is based in Aylesford, has been delivering support to people who are unemployed, including disabled people and Armed Forces veterans, for many years.
Last year it won funding from the European Social Fund, the Big Lottery and the Department for Work & Pensions, allowing it to deliver various programmes to help people improve their health and wellbeing and move into work.
It is the first time RBLI will deliver a programme for adults, having begun offering functional skills and other training to young people aged 16-24.
