A dedicated massage centre is to open in Tunbridge Wells this year in a £500,000 investment.
The Massage Company said the facility in Monson Road will have 14 treatment rooms which offer customers Swedish, deep tissue, sports and maternity options.
Town Mayor Len Horwood is set to open the franchise’s second centre in September with works currently underway.
Taran Bassi is taking charge of the Tunbridge Wells venture after the company’s centre in Surrey town Camberley proved popular.
He said: ‘The Massage Company believe in offering an exceptional quality of massage to clients on each and every visit along with making therapists available at a time to suit them.
‘Rather than seeing massage as an occasional treat or luxury, The Massage Company are changing this idea and making massage a very real solution as part of a healthier lifestyle and greater all-round wellness.’
The Massage Company will open seven days a week, and will be open for 12 hours Mondays to Saturdays and from 10am to 6pm on Sundays.
Occasion
There will also be a duo treatment room for friends and couples, which the business hopes will be a popular choice for a birthday or special occasion.
The centre will employ 20 to 30 staff with recruitment currently underway.
It will be built on the 200-year-old brewery site on Monson Road which traded as Duncan’s baby shop until 2008.
The opening of the centre follows a high street trend of business opening offering customers an experience rather than traditional items to buy.
Mr Bassi continued: ‘The massage tables have been especially designed to allow the therapists to deliver massage treatments that are 50 per cent more effective than others currently available.
‘The treatments have been priced to afford the customer real value to allow regular visits to the centre so customers can truly see lasting benefits.’
The deal to buy the property was brought together by Paul Nicholson from Savills London office and Darrell Barber from Bracketts.
