The South East is a booming area for growing businesses, according to the Sunday Times’ list of annual profit growth.
There were 28 companies with headquarters in the region, occupying spots in the newspaper’s recently published top 100, including six in Kent.
One of those is Tunbridge Wells children’s fashion retailer Childrensalon, a new entrant who ranked at number 90.
The list, which is sponsored by accounting company BDO, ranked firms on their profit growth percentage over the past three years.
Other Kent firms who made the cut included: Aylesford based blu-3 and three Maidstone firms; Watchfinder, Highway Care Group and Apogee Corporation.
Childrensalon, based in Kingstanding Way, recorded a 56 per cent annual profit growth over three years. The company has also recently been announced as a winner of the Queen’s Award for International Trade.
Michele Harriman-Smith, Chief Executive, said: ‘Being included in the 2018 Sunday Times BDO Profit Track is a great achievement for Childrensalon.
‘In the last few years our e-commerce website has experienced growth which resulted in the creation of more than 300 jobs in our local community.
‘We are proud of what we have achieved without compromising our core values and still offering a very personal service to our customers. We are beyond thrilled to be given such an important recognition, which we wouldn’t have been able to achieve without our wonderful team.
‘Thank you to our staff and congratulations to all the South East-based companies in the list.’
