Tonbridge called and the town answered
My partner and I would just like to say what an amazing afternoon we spent on Tonbridge racecourse at the Tonbridge Calling music festival [pictured above].
Organised in just six weeks, the event provided a huge audience with fantastic music, wonderful food and plenty of beer!
All the stallholders were great people, very friendly and what’s more, local.
I hope Tonbridge council had people there to see what a success it was. Let’s make sure it becomes an annual event.
Congratulations on a brilliant day.

Titanic effort
I often shop at Royal Victoria Place shopping mall in Tunbridge Wells, and I just wanted to say that the photographic exhibition and tribute to the Titanic was exceptional.
Thank you and well done to all who put on the display showing the poor souls who perished and those who were saved.
It brought home to me the immensity of this disaster, in which lives of the young and old, rich and poor were lost.
A superbly planned and coordinated exhibition.
Once again, thanks to all.

Waste of money
Regarding your story in the Times of Tonbridge about ‘Life in the slow lane‘ and people’s criticism of the revamp [of Tonbridge High Street], we now shop out of town in places like Sevenoaks and Otford.
This is because we can get there much quicker than the other end of Tonbridge.
What a waste of £2.65m of our money.
