The route is traffic-free and the views are captivating for this rare opportunity to run through the mostly private Eridge Park estate.
Lucy Reid from Tonbridge Athletic Club set a course record with a time of 1hr 7min 4sec.
In doing so, she became the first woman to win the race outright – and the first to complete the event in less than 70 minutes.
The second athlete to cross the line was female too, Tonbridge’s Nicole Taylor also ducking under the 70-minute mark to take the runner-up spot in 1:08.47.
Billy Hobbs representing local club Tunbridge Wells Harriers, won the men’s race in 1:09.54 with the club chairman Andy Howey (1:10.12) in second place to secure the team prize.
The team prizes duly went to Tonbridge for the ladies and the Harriers for the men. Race Director Dave Hadaway once again ensured the 20th edition of the race was a great success with his dedication, hard work and enthusiasm.
