Athletics: Tonbridge runners secure cross-country glory

TONBRIDGE Athletic Club have won the National Cross-Country Championships for the first time at Wollaton Park in Nottingham.

Chris Olley led the team home in fourth place, the highest ever achieved by a Tonbridge athlete, in a time of 43min 21sec as they pipped Morpeth.

James Puxty won the Under-17s race and Pheobe Barker was second in the girls’ category. The U-2o men were runners-up while U-15 boys came third.
