TUNBRIDGE WELLS law firm Cripps has donated £16,000 to the Alzheimer’s Society following a year of fundraising by its staff.
A full calendar of events featured the Get Cripps to Rio Challenge, which saw members of the company walking, running and cycling 5,767 miles – the distance from the town to Rio de Janeiro.
Supported by cycling café The Velo House, the Challenge included the Tour de Cripps bike ride, in which 14 staff cycled a 55-mile route taking them between Cripps’ offices in London, Kings Hill and Tunbridge Wells.
The Get Cripps to Rio Challenge earned the company a silver award in the Team Initiative of the Year category at the Citywealth Future Leaders Awards.
Other activities included a football tournament, a spacehopper challenge and a Christmas bake-off.
“We’ve had a really successful year of fundraising and are delighted to have been able to make such a significant donation to our charity of the year for 2016, the Alzheimer’s Society,” said Senior Partner Clare Hyland.
The Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity, providing almost 3,000 community-based services.
Clare added: “The bright ideas and engagement generated by our internal fundraising team and wider staff help to spread the word and encourage participation across the whole firm.”
