Steak restaurant Cau faces an uncertain future as owners Gaucho weigh up whether to close their 22 UK branches.
More than 700 jobs could be at risk if the Argentinian-themed chain decides to leave high streets.
But the Tunbridge Wells branch’s management has confirmed there are no current plans to close the Mount Pleasant Road restaurant.
Gaucho is one of the UK’s best known restaurant groups and has drafted in an accountancy firm to advise on options for Cau, according to reports.
One option could be to enter a company voluntary arrangement, a form of insolvency used by a string of high street businesses recently.
A company spokesperson said: ‘As part of a comprehensive strategic review, the group’s new management team, with the support of its shareholders, is at the early stages of exploring a number of financial restructuring options.
‘No decisions have yet been made.’
Cau, which offers burgers, brunch and steak dinners with a Buenos Aires twist, has suffered sales decline amid heavy competition.
Rival restaurants Strada and Jamie’s Italian have both recently left Tunbridge Wells while Carluccio’s, Byron and Prezzo have also closed units in other towns.
