POPULAR crossover soprano Joanna Forest will be performing at the Oast theatre in Tonbridge on November 20.
Joanna created chart history earlier this year when she became the first independent artist to reach the No 1 spot in the official classical album charts with a debut album.
Stars Are Rising is produced and conducted by world renowned pianist Robert Emery and recorded with the City of Prague Philharmonic and Arts Symphonic Orchestras. It features hit singles David Bowie’s Life on Mars and Slade’s How Does It Feel?
Joanna studied at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. She made her West End musical debut aged 13, performing at the Dominion Theatre, London in Bernadette The Musical.
A controversial advertisement for Yorkie gave Joanna unexpected fame after the ad, from the “It’s Not For Girls” campaign was banned after it was deemed to be sexist.
Joanna broke on to the classical music scene in 2014 when she duetted with Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts at a charity concert in London’s Palace Theatre.
Having survived breast cancer at the age of 21, she is now an ambassador for the breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel!
Joanna told the Times: “I am so delighted to be bringing my tour to the fantastic Oast Theatre.
“I look forward to singing songs from my album ‘Stars are Rising’ as well as musical and classical favourites. It will be an evening of song not to be missed.”
