Football: Arsenal pay visit to Rusthall’s Jockey Farm for charity

The Arsenal team will be made up of former Gunners, including Ian Selley, Jimmy Carter, Chris Whyte, and celebrity supporters.

Singer-songwriter Sam Calver will be performing with a live band after the final whistle. There will also be children’s entertainment, barbecue, ice cream and a licensed bar.

The match begins at 1pm and tickets cost £7 for adults, £4 for concessions and 13 to 17 year olds, £2 for six to 12 year olds – under-fives can enter for free.

Rusthall played two tough matches against higher league teams as they continued their programme of pre-season friendlies.

They narrowly lost 1-0 to Chatham Town, one of the favourites to win the Southern Counties East League Premier Division next season.

Chatham scored the only goal of the match from long range in the first half, the ball deflecting off a Rusthall defender onto a post, across the goal and into the net.

Against Eastbourne, Rusthall took the lead through the returning Steve Camacho before the visitors replied with two goals.

Reuel Powell-Downey equalised for the Rustics but then Eastbourne scored a third before half-time, then scored four more goals in the second half.
