ONCE again individual mistakes were to cost Rusthall dearly as Fisher ran out easy winners despite what had been a relatively evenly matched contest.
Rusthall, who remain bottom of Southern Counties East League Premier Division, were hampered by having lost both goalkeepers to injury and illness.
They are not allowed to play their third keeper because of league rules so striker Callum Strachan had to fill in again between the posts.
Rusthall’s best chance came from a cross by Ryan Hinkson which the Fisher goalkeeper could only parry out to Charlie Clover, who shot just wide.
It took a mistake to break the deadlock, an attempted clearance by Rusthall hitting a Fisher player who then only had the keeper to beat. He passed it across the box for Tunde Aderonmu to score the easiest of goals.
In the 55th minute Trey Small beat his full-back on the wing and curled a beautiful shot passed Strachan into the far corner.
In injury time Small scored again from a breakaway, after which Fisher’s Harry Tobin was sent off for an incident off the ball.
Rusthall take on Crowborough in a local derby at home on Saturday (February 2, kick-off 3pm).
