RUSTHALL face two of the biggest games in their long history this weekend knowing that four points from an available six will give them -promotion to the Premier Division of the Southern Counties East Football League.
On Saturday they travel to Crockenhill before hitting the road again on Easter Monday to face Holmesdale with their destiny in their own hands.
If they slip up, they know that Kent Football United can pip them to second place behind champions elect Glebe, though Kent Football would have to win all their remaining games – and one of those is away to Glebe on Easter Monday.
It has been a remarkable season for the Rustics, after finishing second from bottom last season.
They brought in new managers, Steve Ashmore and Steve Sands, who put together a strong squad – many of who have played at a higher level.
Rusthall’s ground at Jockey Farm has been passed for promotion and is undergoing major investment with the pitch being levelled and drainage installed.
The season starts on August 5 when Rusthall play in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup for the first time since being founded in 1899.
