Football: Smith in dominant form as Tunbridge Wells girls win final

LEADING LIGHT Abi Todd was named Kent League Player of the Year

TUNBRIDGE WELLS Ladies Under-16s won the Kent Girls & Ladies Tina Marshall Cup final by beating Meridian 3-0.

Wells soon settled into their comfortable style of passing and took the lead after five minutes.

Imogen Ellis slotted a pass through to Kaya Hardie, who rifled her shot first time into the bottom corner.

Wells doubled their lead before half-time when Betty Smith delivered an inch perfect cross that Sara Walker met with a first-time finish.

LEADING LIGHT Abi Todd was named Kent League Player of the YearIn the second half the Wells keeper Denise Abriam was forced to make several vital saves.

The impressive Smith calmed Wells’ nerves when she jinked her way through the defence to make it 3-0.

Wells defender Abi Todd also deservedly picked up the Kent League Player of the Year award.
