TUNBRIDGE WELLS produced a performance that Jason Bourne had demanded from his players with Josh Biddlecombe finding the net twice and James Pinnock scoring on debut.
The victory lifts them two places in the Southern Counties East Football League and six points clear of the relegation zone.
Manager Bourne welcomed new signing Pinnock and brought him in alongside Biddlecombe up front.
Wells have struggled to find the net in recent weeks and, despite the fresh strike partnership, it looked like this would continue.
But they eventually opened the scoring in the 42nd minute when Tom Mackelden’s through ball allowed Biddlecombe to beat the Erith keeper with a fine curling shot.
They doubled their lead just three minutes later on the stroke of half-time as Biddlecombe calmly rounded the keeper to slot home.
The second half opened with the home side looking to finish the game off and Pinnock was unlucky to see his shot come back off the post.
The visitors got themselves back into the game on 52 minutes when Lee Friend broke down the right wing before cutting in and sending his shot into the top left corner.
The Erith goal changed the flow of the game and after 63 minutes, Friend had a chance to level for the visitors but Lawrence in the Wells goal was equal to it.
Wells made sure of the three points in the 89th minute when Pinnock opened his account for the Wells.
This was a solid performance, built from a commanding central defensive partnership of Potter and Davy through to the strong running and persistence of the forward pairing.
Tunbridge Wells now travel to AFC Croydon hoping to build on this display and reach mid-table safety.
