The current exhibition on at Trinity Gallery is a show entitled New Directions. The work is by artist Christa Corner, who takes her inspiration from many sources, including ‘perceptions of and emotional reactions to daily life, the natural world, travel, literature and the human form’. She works in a variety of materials, including paper, wire, wax and stitch. The show is on until July 1 and the gallery is open from 10am until 10pm.
Further afield in Sevenoaks, Green Street Blues will be performing at The Big Community Sing event at the Stag Community Arts Centre, where they will be joined by 12 other choirs. Tickets cost £5 and proceeds go to various mental health projects across the district. On Saturday they will also give a free performance outside The Black Boy in Sevenoaks, so keep an eye out for them.

Tunbridge Wells Museum & Art Gallery has just unveiled its new exhibition. Entitled Staffages: 2018, it’s a new collection of photographic works which illuminate the connections between museum object, site and viewer. The work, by the artist Steffi Klenz, is the result of having spent time at the Tunbridge Wells Museum & Art Gallery and Adult Education Centre looking at their artefacts and architecture. The exhibition runs until Sunday September 8.

From today until Sunday July 1, Hever Castle will be conducting a series Sensory Rose Tours. Visitors to this year’s Hever in Bloom will be able to enjoy the rose displays in the gardens and in the castle itself. Pre-book a scented tour with one of the rose experts and take in the different scents and strengths of perfume as you traverse the gardens designed and built by William Waldorf Astor at the turn of the 20th century. Visitors will be offered the opportunity to learn the basic principles of distilling rose oil, enjoy a tasting of various rose-inspired recipes, peruse the rose collection and buy a locally-sourced rose flavoured gin at the shop.
