TUNBRIDGE WELLS are already sitting on top of South Premier League Division Two after a comfortable win over Purley at Kent College.
Purley had a goal disallowed after an initial save from James Harris in the Wells goal had gone on to strike a Purley foot.
Buoyed by this escape, Wells proceeded to score two sharp goals. First Ben Allberry struck and then Ben Brandt touched home after the visitors’ goalkeeper could only parry Alberry’s shot.
Purley did sneak a goal shortly before half-time as a deflected straight strike was volleyed home.
The second half saw a professional performance from the home side to secure the points, with a goal from Chris Smith, a second for Allberry and a tap-in for Ali Clarke after Allberry had deftly controlled a long aerial ball from Chris Pelmore.
On Saturday October 14 Wells travel to EH Trophy winners Blackheath & Elthamians (kick-off 3pm).
