Hockey: Garwood goal keeps up Tunbridge Wells' unbeaten record

AFTER four wins from four to start the season, Tunbridge Wells had to settle for a share of the points against a tough Bournemouth outfit.

Bournemouth found themselves camped in their own half and their centre-back often resorted to an aerial route to clear the Wells press.

The hosts were failing to complete passes and gave away possession.

But after the Bournemouth keeper had managed to save a drag flick from a short corner, James Beck fed the rebound to Jack Garwood, who deflected it into the goal.

A lapse of concentration by the Wells’ defence gave the opposition space and they forced the ball into the net after multiple deflections.

It was all level at the break but although Wells secured a handful of short corners in the second half, they could not capitalise.

Wells remain unbeaten at the top of South Premier League Division Two.

Another big game awaits as they head to second-placed West Hampstead on Saturday [November 4].
