Hockey: Polished finishing sees Tunbridge Wells return to winning ways

Pam Mills
TUNBRIDGE WELLS Ladies got back to winning ways with an excellent performance against Bishops Stortford in East Region Division One South.

Annie Wilson gave the hosts an early lead with a neatly placed effort into the far left corner of the goal.

Soon after, Amy Hare and Wilson combined to put Nelia Bekker through on goal and she flicked the ball into the net in composed fashion.

The scoring continued after the break with Hare adding a third from a short corner rebound and skipper Jen Hunt making it four in similar fashion.

Finally the visitors raised the standard of their play, pulling a goal back midway through the second half.

The scoreline reflected a combination of Wells’ dominance and some polished finishing to ensure that chances were converted.

The result sees Wells move back up to sixth place in the league, overtaking Bishops Stortford. Now they face a trip to Old Loughtonians on Saturday [October 28, 1pm start]
