Hockey: Tunbridge Wells guilty of letting lead slip again

TUNBRIDGE WELLS suffered a disappointing defeat at Tonbridge School in match that showed how tight the margins are in South Premier League Division One.

The home side started sluggishly and Indian Gymkhana were quicker to react to a rebound after a shot was blocked to take an early lead.

This spurred the home side into life and they rallied to play some patient hockey.

The approach paid off as James Lester fired home on the reverse to level the scores.

A flowing move then saw them take the lead as Jack French neatly finished at the back post.

But for the third time in as many games Wells were unable to hold onto their lead.

Indian Gymkhana levelled the scores from a short corner, then snatched all three points from a fast breakaway.

Tunbridge Wells now travel to Milton Keynes for their penultimate game before the Christmas break on Saturday [December 1].
