TUNBRIDGE WELLS came unstuck against the South Premier League Division One leaders Old Cranleighans at Kent College.
An even first half saw few chances but Wells made the breakthrough, Ben Allberry dispatching a penalty flick after a foul in the circle.
Old Cranleighans equalised from a penalty corner just before half-time, and the visitors then took control of the game in the second half.
The hosts had chances but it was indicative of the two sides’ respective league positions that Old Cranleighans were more ruthless in the D.
Tunbridge Wells, who are 10th in the table, now travel to Winchester on Saturday [January 26, 2pm start].
Tunbridge Wells Ladies lost a tight encounter 2-0 at Canterbury.
