In recognition of his impressive feat, Sherman, who is in the Lower Sixth, has received a Cambridge Top in the World award. This prestigious accolade is made by examining board CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education) to those learners who achieved the highest standard mark in the world for a single subject.
An accomplished pianist and singer, Sherman is a member of the school’s Chapel Choir. His IGCSE examination included composing, performing and completing a written and listening paper which places music in its historical and cultural context.
Mark Forkgen, the school’s Director of Music, said that the award recognised Sherman’s talent, dedication, commitment and attention to detail as a performer, composer and musicologist.
