PUPILS at St Gregory’s School and other clubs in the community have been able to dodge the mud and mire of sports pitches at this time of year as the Tunbridge Wells school unveils its new 3G pitch.
The school’s head of PE Joe Cumber said: “No matter the weather and conditions of the ground we will be able to continue to play outdoors so our students can continue with their sport.
“This project has been over three years in the making and it will make a huge difference to the students here and others in the community who will be able to use the pitch outside of school hours.”
The facility was made possible thanks to a grant from the Football Foundation, which is funded by the Premier League, the FA and Sport England.
Among the local clubs who will be taking advantage of the all-weather pitch are Tunbridge Wells Foresters, Langton Green, Ridgewaye and Tunbridge Wells FC.
