Live-in care

They offer individuals or couples a welcome and reassuring alternative to unpredictable community care, extended hospital stays�and care homes. Their service is a 24/7, one to one, shaped by each individual client’s situation and needs, extending their independence and enabling daily freedom of choice.
Their live-in carers come to us from a wide range of backgrounds and have a variety of experience and life skills; they undergo our in-house training when joining them.�They support the carers with continued training, up to NVQ level 3, delivered by their award-winning training team.��

Short-term care
There are many reasons why you might need to arrange short-term live-in care at home. Offering peace of mind to your friends and family, live-in care is now often the preferred choice for many people. The advantage of 24/7 care is priceless and Consultus are confident they can help in any situation, which may include; convalescent care, crisis or emergency care, intermittent chronic care and planned respite care.
In addition, arranging a short-term stay is the best way to test our service and allow you to take time to think through your various care options. A carer can often be arranged for you at 24 hours’ notice.
Long-term care
Why choose live-in care for the long-term? Given the choice, not many people would want to leave the homes they love and move into a residential care home.

Alzheimer’s care
Dementia is a disorientating condition and being moved away from home can be a traumatic experience. A live-in carer is there to help. If a member of your family has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or another type of dementia, Consultus is fully aware how this can impact the extended family. Their skilled live-in carers offer expert care assistance 24/7 to help people at all stages of dementia.
Wherever possible, they try to arrange for a rotation of regular carers to look after a client with dementia, to minimise disruption and encourage a calming environment.
Palliative care
Consultus has a wealth of experience caring for clients who require palliative care. Their carers work with families, other health professionals and support groups to maintain patient comfort and the highest level of care in the later stages of life. They help them to maintain dignity and self-respect at all times.
Palliative care aims to treat or manage the pain and other physical symptoms the client may experience and offers a dependable support system for all those affected by a terminal illness.
During periods when qualified nursing care is required, a Consultus live-in nurse – experienced in palliative care – can be arranged to offer additional or alternative 24/7 support.
