LOCAL blogger Suzannah Niklas has teamed up with Tonbridge Old Fire Station (TOFS) to forge a new partnership in the production of the popular Tonbridge Daily Calendar.
Suzannah, who writes Tonbridge Daily and is the driving force behind the calendar, says: “The partnership with TOFS means we will work together in the production and promotion of the calendar.
“We want to continue to produce a product that photographically reflects our town while raising funds for our chosen local charities.
“It’s going to be an energetic partnership and we hope to get the community involved along the way. I’m very grateful to TOFS for their support and involvement.”
The calendar is put together from photographic submissions sent in by town residents. A panel of judges choose which images will be used for each month.
Proceeds from the calendar will go towards local charities which will be announced in May. Last year more than 960 copies were sold, raising £6,750 for worthy causes like AgeUK’s Community Befriending Service, who received £2,000.
Pictures of the launch were taken by local photographer Emma Stokes. Suzannah said: “Emma was asked to do the shoot as I felt I wanted to keep the calendar a wholly community effort from the beginning, and so we have kicked off in the way we wish to proceed.
“It was fruitful for Emma as she was offered a wall inside TOFS on which to hang some of her beautiful landscapes. How about that for working together as a close knit community.”
