TONBRIDGE ANGELS Ladies got their home league campaign off to a flying start with a demolition of Petts Wood Honeybuzzards.
The visitors are much fancied this year having dominated their Under-18 league the previous season. But they were never allowed to make their mark on a match which was controlled by the home side from start to finish.
There was almost a goal inside 30 seconds. Abbie Skilton breached the penalty area straight from the kick-off but her curled effort hit the inside of the far post and rebounded along the goalline to safety.
She made amends shortly afterwards to open the scoring, and the lead was quickly doubled by a fine shot from Becky Saxby.
Skilton scored again to seal a 3-0 half-time lead, and the Angels were once again out of the blocks from kick-off, with Beth Kemp scoring within 50 seconds to make it four.
Skilton completed her hat-trick on 76 minutes before Lauryn Underhill found the roof of the net with a curling effort two minutes later.
The rout was completed with four minutes remaining via a cool finish from Megan Akehurst.
The Ladies are again at home on Sunday against Teynham Gunners (kick-off 2pm).
