TONBRIDGE ANGELS Ladies kept up the pressure on league leaders Thamesview with a hard-earned 2-0 win at home to Vinters.
The hosts were in control from the start but Vinters have always been a difficult team to score against and many chances went begging.
Finally the Vinters defence was unlocked in the 33rd minute when Megan Akehurst rounded the goalkeeper to score.
Five minutes later the lead was doubled when Lauryn Underhill struck the bar and the rebound fell to Becky Jarvis, who scored on her first -competitive start for the team.
Another sound defensive performance produced a fifth clean sheet in seven league games.
The Angels now have four away games in a row starting with Petts Wood on Sunday [November 5].
