Pupils and students heading to Tunbridge Wells from Crowborough risk being left stranded in the new school year after Arriva announced it was cutting bus routes no longer deemed ‘commercially viable’.
The bus company will stop running the 228/229 service out of from September 3 leaving East Sussex and Kent County Councils scrambling to secure an alternative.
A spokesman for East Sussex County Council said: “We expect to secure a replacement daytime Crowborough town service, although this is likely to differ from the current Arriva provision.”
