The CEO of TEK Group Paul Fleming, who voted Remain, told the Times: “The Conservatives are the only party with a direct and well defined approach to getting Brexit done then getting on with business, if they do not get a majority government or a suitably strong alliance then the uncertainty will continue.
“And if we get a fragmented parliament or a Corbyn PM then I think there will be a lot of entrepreneurs, business owners and employers taking a long hard look at their future plans for investment and growth in the UK.”
Victoria Usher, who founded international PR firm GingerMay in Tunbridge Wells a decade ago, says Greg Clark understands the needs of businesses in the town.
She said: “I’m voting for Greg Clark because he is a strong figurehead with a proven track record of having held a cabinet position, which makes me feel confident he will represent the views of the business community in Tunbridge Wells.
“I also voted remain in the EU referendum, and I really respect the position Greg Clark has taken over Brexit.”
Rob Young, CEO of Infinity Group based in Camden Road, is also backing Mr Clark.
He said: “There’s no doubt we need investment in public services and infrastructure and to deliver this we need a thriving economy so we need somebody to get in to support business with policies that encourage growth.
“In our industry, we need to be able to find and train the best talent so policies that encourage learning and development are welcome, and the only person that can guarantee these for Tunbridge Wells is Greg Clark.”
Markerstudy Group, one of the town’s largest employers, says it has first-hand experience of Greg Clark in action, on both a local and national level.
A spokesperson for the company, which employs over 1,000 staff in Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks, said: “It’s a measure of the man that Greg Clark can fully support his constituents whilst battling the issues in parliament.
“We are 100 per cent behind Greg in his campaign to continue the good work he’s started. We have seen him personify ‘one nation Conservatives’ and have the courage of his convictions”.
