A fundraising quiz raised almost £1,000 for palliative care charity ellenor.
Mayor David Elliott, who is supporting the charity this year, was among the 60 guests who took part in the quiz at Salomons on Saturday.
A raffle and auction helped raise £936 for the charity, which provides treatment and hospice care in the home for children and young people.
In addition to providing support chemotherapy and oncology care for patients, 50 per cent of whom suffer from cancer, the charity also offers support for families and carers.
Ellenor director of fundraising Rachel Holweger said: “We’re hugely grateful to everyone who came.
“As a charity, we are reliant on fundraising and this will have a big impact on the children and families that need hospice care at home locally.”
