Cecil the lion in fight against poaching

BEER-STYLES

A coloured pencil portrait of Cecil the lion which took a Crowborough artist 100 hours to complete will be auctioned in aid of an animal charity.

Artist Charlotte Williams is selling her 31 x 22 in picture on eBay to raise money for Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit.

The artist said: “Poaching is a huge problem and completely abhorrent to me, it is decimating wildlife populations as we speak.

“VFAPU put their lives at risk, day in day out, trying to stop these heinous crimes. It was an honour to be asked and wonderful to be a part of such a worthy cause.”

VFAPU founder Charles Brightman added: “Poaching is a problem that needs to be addressed in all areas.

“The money raised will be used to pay the rangers, buy petrol, service the vehicle, buy ammunition, pay for veterinary services and run education programmes. What VFAPU also needs is people, who have particular skills in say, marketing and education. We need to build a community of people, who share our vision, to enable us to continue to make a difference.”

The eBay auction will run from September 14 to 23. For more information, visit www.vfapu.com
