The cost of full-time season tickets in four Tunbridge Wells car parks is to increase by £100 next year to £950 as demand for places starts to ‘exceed supply’.
Members of the borough council’s cabinet voted for the increase at a meeting on November 12.
The car parks affected are in Crescent Road, Meadow Road, Mount Pleasant Avenue and the Great Hall car park.
Calverley Terrace car park is set for an even steeper increase, raising by £110 to £1,060, while full-time season tickets at car parks in Beech Street, Camden Road and Union House are all due to go up by £95 to £905.
But the cost of all the tickets will continue to be discounted by £50 for residents of the borough.
The news of increasing fares for season tickets comes after the Times reported last week of council plans to raise the cost of a range of services across the borough as well as scrapping half of the free parking in Paddock Wood.
