RACERS are gearing up for Tunbridge Wells’ second annual soapbox kart race, which was launched this week.
Crazy Jean’s Soapbox Kart Race returns to Dunorlan Park in June with early bird tickets already on sale.
Already more than 40 soapbox karts have been snapped up by eager racers in anticipation of the 8 June race.
Last year’s inaugural event raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity when 50 handmade soapbox go karts customised by local businesses, community groups and residents went head to head on the downhill racetrack.
“Entrants all get a basic soapbox, which they can personalise and modify to be as wacky and crazy as they like,” said Nicole Piesse Turner,” event organiser from Crazy Jeans Events and marketing and media company, Chatty Hatter.
“We are delighted to have Rosemary Shrager as our celebrity ambassador for 2019. She represents everything that’s good about the event: it is crazy, warm and lots of fun!”
