Michael Roe, 33, must serve a minimum of 19 years for murdering baby Holly Roe at their home in Alderbrook Close.
Holly’s mother, Tiffany Tate, 22, who is reported to suffer from learning difficulties, has been sentenced to two years and nine months for allowing the death of the child.
The pair were sentenced at Hove Crown Court today [Friday] after being found guilty on March 17.
The court had heard that paramedics found baby Holly not breathing and with no heart activity when they were called to the couple’s home in September 2018.
Despite attempts to revive Holly, she was pronounced dead at Tunbridge Wells Hospital.
A post-mortem revealed she had bruising to her brain and spinal cord, as well as fractured ribs, which the court was told had been caused by ‘violent shaking’.
