Members of Tunbridge Wells’ Indian community gathered at Langton Green village hall recently to mark the festival of Diwali.
Diwali is an ancient festival of lights and is one of the largest and brightest in the Hindu tradition.
The event, which took place on November 22, was organised by Jignesh Dhanani, who was joined at the hall by Councillor Nasir Jamil and dozens of local residents.
Food and fun were enjoyed by all, with the adults taking part in group dancing and the younger attendees playing games and celebrating with sparklers under the watchful eyes of their parents.
The festival is observed at around this time every year by the small community of Indians living and working in and around the town.
