Fairground attractions bring back memories

The Mead School in Tunbridge Wells gave a professional level performance in the ISA drama contests

RESIDENTS of Barnes Lodge in Tonbridge enjoyed all the fun of the fair over the Bank Holiday weekend – in the comfort of their own garden.

The Tudeley Lane care home offered a variety of traditional games, including Hook a Duck, Shove Ha’penny, Ring Toss and Tin Can Alley.

Afterwards, they were treated to traditional funfair snacks like popcorn and candy floss while relaxing in the sun and reminiscing about going to the fair in their youth.

Nicky Pett, General Manager of Barnes Lodge, said: ‘Now the weather is warming up, we are making the most of our lovely garden here at Barnes Lodge by hosting lots of activities outside, and dining outside when we can, too.

‘The residents really enjoyed the traditional games, which certainly took them back to their younger days when summer holidays were spent at the fairground.’
