DOG-WALKERS and drivers had to double-take when they were passing the Common over the weekend as they were greeted with 400 flamingos scattered over the green space.
But rather than confusion from the tropical birds, the plastic imitations arrived as part of a promotional stunt from an upcoming music festival – Leefest.
Since their very first festival in founder Lee Denny’s parent’s back garden in 2006, LeeFest has become a thriving arts community that welcomes 5,000 revellers annually, which is set to see Jake Bugg, Annie Mac, and Kate Tempest headline.
As well as musical acts, this year’s event will see The Neverland, a world of parties, workshops, food, dance and comedy.
Last year, Leefest won the Judge’s Choice Award from the National Outdoor Events Association.
