FOOD & FUN: Chef and TV presenter James Martin in Dunorlan Park

The event, which is the brainchild of TV chef Tom Kerridge, had been cancelled last year due to the pandemic, but it returned to the town this month and was hosted by former Saturday Kitchen star James Martin.

SINGING IN THE RAIN: Revellers enjoying the festival at the weekend despite the weather

Crowds braved the rain as they enjoyed an array of local food and entertainment that included Craig David, James Blunt, Beverley Knight and the band behind the Three Lions football song, The Lightning Seeds.

It is the third time that Pub In The Park has been held in Tunbridge Wells – it was run in both 2018 and 2019 and saw as many as 20,000 visit the event, but social distancing meant the crowds were smaller this year.

Festivalgoers enjoyed dishes at £6 a plate from some of the country’s best chefs.

Local pubs and restaurants who were at the event this year included Sankey’s, The Kentish Hare and The Small Holding.

Similar events have taken place in Marlow, Chiswick and Dulwich.
