Around 12,000 attended the fundraiser on Saturday [November 3], which Royal Tunbridge Wells Round Table put on support local good causes.
Committee member Andrew Mockford said: “We had a great turnout and it was dry with perfect conditions for fireworks.
“It was a great display, I consider it to be the best we have done yet, and we have had excellent feedback, with nice comments on social media.”
Mr Mockford has been involved to some extent in the organisation since selling tickets at the age of seven and been part of the fireworks team for the past six years.
He said this year’s fireworks, which had to be lit further away from Dunorlan’s lake because of windy conditions, had a greater range of colours than in previous years.
The display was orchestrated to the soundtrack of film scores, with the theme from The Greatest Showman used for the finale.
Around 15 members of the Round Table are behind the display and shall begin preparations for the 2019 event in just a few weeks.
The committee will soon decide how their takings shall be distributed and which charities to support, before these proceeds are given away in a ceremony.
This year’s proceeds have not yet been counted up, but in excess £30,000 raised in 2017.
The Round Table has thanked Buss Murton Law for their sponsorship and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council for their assistance with organisation and the public for their support.
The Rotary Club of Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells Girls’ Grammar School, local Scout groups and Tonbridge Round Table were also thanked for their contributions.
