In a bid to raise money for charity, Callum Cadney-Moon decided to run a dozen marathons over the festive period, one each day during the 12 days of Christmas.
The experienced runner, ran his first 26.2 miles on Christmas Day, starting in Groombridge, and over the last twelve days has taken part in a further 11 marathon length runs across Tunbridge Wells – the last taking part today (Wednesday) when he will finally be able to sit down for his Christmas Dinner.
The full time PT coach says he has been setting himself challenges every month but wanted to do something special for charity at Christmas.
He hopes to raise £12,000 for his chosen charities include the Ted Senior Foundation which works to reduce suicide risk in young people, the mental health charity Mind, and Little Gate Farm which helps people with learning disabilities and autism.
He said: “I want to raise awareness of mental health issues as well as perhaps inspire others who may not realise, we are all capable of a lot more than we might think.
“Occasionally I have been joined on my runs with my partner and other runners who have come some of the distance with me and my husky Squiffy has also been keeping me company.”
The experienced runner says it takes him between five and six hours to complete each marathon run, but that staving off injury is the biggest challenge.
He added: “Everything has to be planned for a challenge like this, especially nutrition and hydration, but perhaps the biggest challenge is to fend of injuries.
“I’ve currently been struggling with an inflamed ankles but thankfully no blisters but I am very much looking forward to finishing the challenge on Wednesday.”
So far, he has raised more than £10,000 for charity and anybody wanting to help can donate at justgiving.com/team/theonelifeproject
