The tournament, organised by Pembury Athletic Football Club (PAFC), was held over the last weekend in May, attracting hundreds of child and youth players.

McDonald Franchisee Mahbod Mohammadi donated football uniforms, equipment including balls and coach kits, activity books and refreshments.

Mr Mohammadi, who owns and operates one restaurant in Tunbridge Wells, said: “We have supplied football kits for Pembury Youth for the last four seasons, along with the Tunbridge Wells Girls team, and really look forward to their summer tournaments when students across Tunbridge Wells come together in high spirits.

“It feels great to continue the age-old tradition of fruit slices during half time by providing over 1400 fruit bags to the players.”

The event was held at Somerhill School, Tonbridge.

McDonald’s has been a Football Association partner for 18 years and is the longest-standing investor of grassroots football in the UK.

As of last year, the McDonald’s Fun Football Programme has provided 2 million hours of ‘fun football’ to children across the UK, and aims to reach over 5 million hours of football for 5-11-year-olds by 2022.
