Len Horwood was Mayor at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council in 2019/2020, and served as Councillor for Pantiles & St Mark’s from 2008 until his death.
Cllr Horwood had been unwell for some time and his death is not thought to be related to the current coronavirus pandemic.
Among those paying their respects, Greg Clark MP, said: “Len was a wise and effective figure in Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, and a good friend. He did wonderful work for mental health support in our area.”
He added that he expressed his condolences to the Councillor’s widow, Judy Horwood.
