The Conservative was constituency election agent to MP Craig Mackinlay in 2015. Alongside official Marion Little, they are alleged to have spent beyond limits to defeat UKIP’s Nigel Farage.
Gray’s defence lawyer told Southwark Crown Court last week South Thanet Conservatives positioned the inexperienced agent to take the onerous duty to escape any potential repercussion.
