Richard Bruce and Sophia Davis, the men’s and ladies’ captains for 2017 and 2018 respectively, both chose the charity for personal reasons, having experienced its support first-hand.
The BHF is at the forefront of funding research into heart and circulatory disease, which claims a life every three minutes in Britain.
Andew Seale, assistant to the club’s Secretary, said: “We are delighted to have raised over £11,000 for the BHF’s life-saving research.
“It was an amazing year and I would like thank all our members who made it a success.”
He added: “We had a calendar of fundraising ideas throughout the year as well as organising stock generation for the local shop and a lot of fun.
“I would encourage anyone who is thinking of supporting the BHF to go for it. It was a good excuse to get everyone together whilst raising money for a great cause.”
Kim Brophy, BHF’s Fundraising Manager for Kent, said: “I have been delighted to work with Richard, Sophia and the members at Lamberhurst and thank them for raising such an amazing amount of money.
“I never cease to be amazed by the extra-ordinary ways people who choose to fundraise for the BHF, and we’re incredibly grateful to them for raising such a fantastic amount.
“We urgently need more people to join our fight for every heartbeat and help power our life-saving research.
“That’s why we’re calling on everyone across the UK to organise their own fundraising event to help support our vital work.
“If your club, group or company would like to get involved, please contact me for more details.”
