Have your say on the future of Tunbridge Wells cinema site

Members of the public and local businesses are being invited to put forward their views on how they would like to see Tunbridge Wells’ old cinema site developed.

The invitation comes from Altitude Real Estate, which purchased the site in April – over 16 years after the eyesore was last occupied.

It announced yesterday (Tuesday) that it will be holding the ‘drop-in’ workshop for the public on July 18 at Trinity Theatre.

The Cheltenham-based developer said the event would help them gain a better understanding of people’s aspirations for the 1.3-acre plot, and give the local community an opportunity to ‘influence’ its future.

The company wants to create a ‘vibrant’ mixed-use development with the potential to provide new facilities and draw additional visitors to the town.

Director Stephen Tillman said: “We would like to hear from local residents, stakeholders and businesses in order to understand their views, aspirations and any concerns they hold for the site.”

The drop-in will be taking place on Monday July 18 between 1.30pm and 7pm at Trinity Theatre, Church Road, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1JP.
